WARNING LONG!!! This might seem hash but if there is any more ignorant assholes that post a status about Why should Daniels case get more attention, what about the other missing/ murdered children?? .... I say this to you, before you make an uninformed opinion because you havent followed the Morcombe family exclusively for the last 10 years, noticed the unequaled work they have done for families nationwide, If you havent shared in their grief and fought a constant uphill battle to find Daniel and his killer. Then please dont bring negative where there has been so much hurt already. If you are having trouble recalling case similar to this in Australia even though there has been many with media coverage, it is truly a shame. (You can find some in the links below) I suggest to people that do have this opinion, before you do anything else, read their heart wrenching Victim Impact Statements and if, after a little insight into this familys hell, you still cant see why Daniel and his family deserve this day, a day which has seen ten years of working towards a single goal finally been accomplished. Ask yourself, What is right? What is just in this world? If we cant revel in this outcome for the Morcombes ? If you cant agree they should have their day in court and be able to share it with our country. If you want to berate a family which, have earned their successes. If you lack empathy for their suffering and grief, to a point where you think it appropriate to ask What about all the other abducted children? Why didnt anyone say anything about them? Please realise that you are responsible for shining a negative light against the guilty verdict handed in court today. A victory that was won in a court room, by a legal team that dedicated years to Daniels case, by the might of the Australian police force, an army of volunteers and a family whose determination and perseverance paved the way to their closure. This tragedy was felt in every corner of our communities, in our schools, in our homes, in our hearts. Yet the Morcombe family stood resolute not just to find Daniels killer but to remind us all to be even more careful with our children and cherish our loved ones inherently. Daniel was a kind, young, loving boy, who was waiting for a bus, so he could buy presents for his family on the days leading up to Christmas. He was abducted and killed by a man named Brett Cowan. He was an opportunist and a serial offender. The outcome for Daniel Morcombes trial can never replace what has been taken.The devastation will always be felt. More than one life was murdered that day. If you still believe that Daniels case didnt embody every nameless victim, every cold blooded murder and every life that has been taken too soon than you should be nothing other than repentant.
