WARNING: Long (but important) message ;-) Hi guys, Im really glad that everyone is enjoying the pole lessons so far. Weve got even more cool stuff lined up for this weeks lessons :-) There are just a couple of points that Id like quickly like to address with you all, and its easier for me to do it on here. 1. Please everyone remember to bring towels to your lesson. Were going to start doing more upside-down moves soon and youll need to wipe the pole before every time you get on the pole. I dont want people using hoodies to wipe the poles any more please - its unhygienic and theres a risk that the poles will get scratched. Its also not fair to rely on other people on your pole to bring a towel each time as it ends up being the same people that remember to bring them. Soo... I will be checking for everyones towels at the start of every lesson from now on, and there will be forfeits (of my choice) for anyone that forgets their towel. Mwa ha ha ;-) 2. Please make sure that your clothes (in particular your shorts) dont have anything metal on them (eg buttons or zips) as they will scratch the poles. Also please remember to take off all jewellery, including belly piercings etc, bracelets and anklets for the same reason. 3. Please arrive at your lesson and be ready to start on time. Now that the weather is getting colder, it is even more important that everyone does a thorough warm up. Anyone who arrives (or decides to start taking boots and jackets etc off) after the warm up has already started wont be allowed to take part in the class. Its not fair on the people who have turned up on time, if I have to take time out of the lesson to warm up anyone that has arrived late. Obvoiusly if you want to keep jumpers and trousers on to stop you from getting cold while youre waiting, thats absoultely fine :-) 4. During lessons, please dont try any moves that you havent yet been taught. This is particularly relevant in the mixed ability classes. My syllabus is structured in a very specific way, so that your strength and co-ordination are gradually built up ready for the next move. This is the most effective way of building up to being able to do kick-ass pole moves without risking injuring yourself or knocking your confidence. If you try to do a move that youre not strong enough for or you havent been shown how to do correctly, you might end up injuring yourself or even the people around you. 5. When Im talking to the class as a whole, please dont chat amongst yourselves. Otherwise I end up repeating myself - which can get a bit boring ;-) 6. Ive had about a million-and-one messages about doubling up to make up for missed classes. I understand that there may be the odd lesson you cant make, and I will happily fill you in on what you miss the following week - just give me a nudge at the start of the lesson. All classes are fully booked, so there simply isnt space for everyone that misses a lesson to come to an extra class in a different week. Catching up for missed classes will only be allowed in certain circumstances, and only if it has been arranged with myself BEFORE the lesson youre going to miss. If you missed last weeks lesson, please only turn up for the one class youre booked in for tomorrow. 7. Hoodies and tops - sorry its taken a bit longer for these to arrive. Its the first time Ive put such a big order in with the company and theyre taking a bit longer than I expected. They should (fingers crossed... famous last words...) be ready for next week, failing that the following week at the latest. I realise this is quite a long message. Thank you for reading it - and I look forward to seeing everyone for more cool pole shenanigans at lessons tomorrow :-) xxx
