WARNING: NOT FOR THE LAW-ABIDING CITIZENS OF HEAVEN... GODS LOVE LETTER The other day I was reading the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20 and couldnt help but smile at this wonderful love letter God wrote to His children. It may have been His laws with a purpose to keep the children of Israel in right standing with Him then, but to us these are a beautiful love letter that help us appreciate the work of the cross of Jesus. As a Holy Spirt-filled and led believer whose life has been saved by grace, and whose righteousness is a gift from Christ I hear Gods love letter when I read these commandments. Jesus nailed the requirements of the law completely and perfectly on the cross, and He left us with a new commandment - that of LOVE. Now listen to what the Spirit of the Lord says today about these beautiful words God once gave to His children on the mountain. (Allow me to EDIT so that you can get the beauty of what I mean when I say that its Gods love letter to us.) And God spoke all these words, saying: “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. “You shall have no other gods before Me. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them... (Exodus 20:1-5 NKJV) THE LOVE LETTER My child, I know that there are a lot of things that vie for your attention in order to take centre stage, and that, you can overcome! You can always remind yourself that everything you are and you have is from Me. Your life, your spouse, your family, your material possessions, your beautiful career, your flourishing business, all everything are all My blessing to you. I am the one who provides your needs according to My riches in glory, keep that in mind and it will guard your heart against making all that you have other gods in your life. Dont allow this weakness to weigh you down though, I perfectly understand your predicament on earth. Remember, I was once on earth in flesh, and I saw and experienced first hand all that you go through as My children. I too was tempted in all forms so I know how much the enemy of your souls entices you to have other gods. This is what I want you to do when something or someone else is threatening to take My place in your heart; come boldly to My throne to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need, My grace is sufficient for you. Walk in My Presence, the Holy Spirit. Be conscious of His Presence all the time, He is your Helper, I gave Him to you to help you with every choice and decision. You are mine, I will never leave you nor forsake you, neither will I allow your foot be moved. Be aware of My presence when temptation comes to push you into worshiping other gods, just call on My name, I am as near to you as your very own breath. I love you My child, I gave up My Son for you.
