WARNING UNINTERESTING RANT INC. Today I was pleasantly awakened at 6:00 am by the sound of someone desperately trying to drill a screw that wouldnt move into the roof (my floor) with a power drill. You know the sound, like an old Toyota trying to accelerate on wet asphalt combined with a mounted machine gun running with no ammunition. I went down to look at what the hell was going on, and was met by 2 very young probably newly educated construction workers trying to drill a screw into the roof to fasten a lamp. I had a chat with them and apparently they had been doing this for a good 30 minutes with no luck. I asked if I could see the tool they were using, as they were drilling it into cheap wood with a density like cardboard and it should go through just by jamming a sharp object at it. Turns out they were drilling with the power drill in reverse. I flipped a switch on the drill and said That should do it They went back to work and finished up in 5 minutes. I hope they thank god for the existence of coffee, for without it I would have strangled them with their own lack of work experience.
