WARNING: the origin of this song was composed in 1936 by Hungarian ppianist Rezso Seress. the song you are about to hear, has been blamed for more suicides, than any other song in history. The origin of the song was banned on BBC for 66 years. The ban lasted until 2002. In the original lyrics of gloomy Sunday the singer is asking his dead lover to join him at his own planned funeral. A lot of suicide deaths in Hungary are reportedly tied to the song. Several bodies were found with their hands clutching the songs sheet music. Several people shot themselves while hearing a band play this song. Both time and the New york times had reported suicides and attempted suicides which were connected to Gloomy Sunday. The song was banned in Hungary, U.S., and the UK for its association with the high rate of suicides. The author killed himself just after his 69th birthday. So, I reccommend to everyone: dont search the origin of this song and listen Bjorks version :)
