WATCH. SHARE. POST. PASS IT ON! The Napa Valley Film Festival is full of wonderful people and hand picked films making their way out into the world. Just like we need support in getting the word out about our film, these filmmakers need support too. We’ll be posting trailers from each film throughout the festival. BOTSO: Dr. Botso Korisheli, 91 and still teaching music along with his unique philosophy of life, has a fascinating and unforgettable life story. Born in the former Soviet State of Georgia, Botso witnessed his father imprisoned under orders from Josef Stalin while his home was taken over by the KGB. Forced to dig ditches for the Soviet army, Botso was then captured by the Germans. His ability to speak German and his love of music saved Botsos life; he became a translator of Russian for the Germans and eventually was freed. Filmed partly in the Republic of Georgia, Director Tom Walters captures the infectious spirit of Botso as he trains generations of musicians in both performance and life skills.
