WATCHING DAYS FLOAT BY Tattooing deep emotions to loose leaf helps massage some of the pains of everyday life. Narrating real life i be up nights staring at clocks ticking. Lots of red ink my heart bleed when i write. Soundtrack to my life piano notes sing songs that advertise how I feel. While in search of pleasant times, I seen godly men auction their souls to demons just to live because they were too afraid to die. Cradling wounded emotions, knowing trust is scarce I find myself staring at calendars counting the days. Helping hands wipe away tears reflecting on the years of a younger me when life wasn’t so harsh. Beautiful at times but I know now life will eat your heart, innocent or not. Like a ghost my grandmother’s face comes to mind thinking maybe she was right about those bible stories she use to tuck me in with at nights. So much has transformed since then wondering if I’m to close to the sun that’s why I can’t see the light. Meanwhile the months are laughing, bragging that they’ll be here forever but you won’t. Birthdays remind me I’m getting older and winter winds blow colder....
