WATER PROBLEM CORRECTED August 9, 2013 7:47PM Recently, you were notified of a problem with our drinking water and were advised to boil water for cooking and drinking purposes. We are pleased to report that the problem has been corrected and that it is no longer necessary to boil water. Due to the extensive hydrant flushing that has occurred over the past few days you may encounter some rusty colored water. If that is the case flush your water taps until the water runs clear. Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience. For more information, please contact Pat Elliott at 231-547-3276 or the Department of Environmental Quality, Office of Drinking Water and Municipal Assistance at 231-876-4481. General guidelines on ways to lessen the risk of infection by microbes are available from the EPA Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 800-426-4791
