He gathers a team of ex comrades, homeless exsquaddies and exiled Syrians. Their aim - to assinate all to do with gas attacks and blow up gas systems. They infiltrate both sides of the conflict, plus a resreve independent group working as UN security. But one has been turned by Syrian govt secret police under threats ot his family in Syria. Plus a leftwing US congressman secretly funds them then tries to eliminate them before they succeed when his cover is threatened. The more they penetrate and eliminate the more they are penetrated and eliminated. The climax comes during the next major planned gas attack ...
