WCHE NEWS - Chester County Court of Common Pleas Judge, Jacqueline Cody, decided against the Meadow Brook Golf Club in the eminent domain dispute with the Phoenixville Area School District. In a decision filed Friday afternoon, Judge Cody overruled the preliminary objections filed by Meadow Brook’s partial owner the CY Group. Cody determined that the group did not adequately prove that the district’s attempt to take over the 50-acre property was over broad and excessive. In November, the Phoenixville Area School Board voted to acquire the property to build a new school building which will house an early learning center and elementary school. A court-appointed board will determine a price for the property if the district and owners are unable to negotiate one. Follow @FrankWCHE for all the latest news and information.
