WCHE NEWS - The state NAACP released the findings of its probe into the scandal that rocked the Coatesville Area School District last year. The NAACP recommends a Department of Justice investigation into the district’s compliance with special education requirements and routine monitoring by the Office of Civil Rights. It is also recommending that staff undergo professional development training to better handle students facing emotional trauma and institutional racism. The NAACP reported that the school board permitted prejudice to those with lower socioeconomic standing.
