WCOPA calls on Senegambians to enter for 2013 summer competition Bakary Ceesay The World Championships of Performing Arts in Hollywood (WCOPA) is calling for entries for aspiring talented individuals from Senegal and The Gambia ahead of its September 2013 summer 17th edition competition to be held in the United States. Momodou Lamin Touray, alias DJ Lil Sisqo, WCOPA National Director for The Gambia, Senegal and Norway told The Voice on 18 March that the competition is open to all vocalists, actors, actresses, instrumentalists, models, poets, and even dancers. DJ Lil Sisqo said the move is another means of motivating aspiring talents in their drive to escalate and groom homegrown talents to another height. ... “With the WCOPA you have the chance to meet producers, talent agents, directors, coaches, vocal masters, casting agents, and modeling agencies in Hollywood,” he added. He describes WCOPA as one of the only official talent Olympics for aspiring performers and entertainers’ with seventeen years of incredible growth. “It is the only premier international talent and modeling competition of its kind annually held in Hollywood, the entertainment capital of the world,” he said. “It is also, the only talent Olympics for performing artists from around the world.” Interested applicants can contact them on this email journeytohollywood@gmail, WACOPA announces. WACOPA was established in 1996, its founders felt that for centuries, there has been an exclusive “Olympics” for athletes excluding any non-sports activity or other prestigious type of achievement. “This discriminatory practice is being corrected especially for the revered universe of performing artists by the successful creation of the “World Championships of Performing Arts” (WCOPA), as the one and only “official talent Olympics” for aspiring performers and entertainers,” they said. Similar to the Olympics, only invited and qualified competitors representing countries compete each year in a fierce competition for “the gold”, in which countries send their “best of the best”.
