WDSPL sponsored by Frames Group Week 1 (7/9/14) Champions Frames A took maximum points on the opening weekend thanks to a 7-5 win at Sunny Jet B. Holly Bush got off to an excellent start to the new campaign with a hard fought 7-5 away win at Black Horse B, Matt Peel & Dan Johnson doubles doing the damage. Johnny McDaid & Liam Mallin gave Railway A the perfect start with a comfortable 8-4 victory over Lord Nelson A. Jolly Miller had to win the last 3 frames to secure a 7-5 win at the now combined Foresters, last seasons premier average winner Huw Thomas, Daz McCrorie & Luke Morris eclipsing a double from Arms landlord Matt Willoughby. Lord Nelson B fought back after a shaky start at home to Joiners Arms to wrap up a 7-5 triumph, thanks to Matt Such & Toby Shone. Kevin Mackie & John Bradshaw despatched the Railway B, as Woodloes started with 7-5 glory, Lon Mallin with the consolation. Green Man A showed their intent for the season as they mauled Racing Club 10-2, Jamie Rheams & Zak Devis with the bit between their teeth. An already depleted Black Horse A took what might be a crucial point away at the Whitnash Tavern, Steve Rooneys brace was matched by Matty Coles and the out of retirement Andy Strain. Another draw in the Frames B versus Sunny Jet A match, captain James Eales for FCB and Pete Whitehead & Keith Washbrooke for the Jet.
