WE ARE HIRING!... SUMMARY: As a Bakery Team Leader you will lead a team with your creativity, passion for the product, and quality-driven leadership style. The Bakery Team Leader reports to the overall Manager. DUTIES: In conjunction with the Manager you will be responsible for Team Member development & training, disciplinary reporting, separations, and holding your team accountable for their work. Responsible for profitability, expense control (packaging and labor), inventory control, buying and merchandising, regulatory compliance, and special projects as assigned, Interview, select, train, develop and counsel Team Members in a manner that builds and sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover. Make hiring and termination decisions with guidance of Store Manager. Lead your team by training and mentoring, Complete accountability for all aspects of team operations and able to perform all duties and responsibilities of team positions. Select and develop Associate Team Members as potential Team Leaders, Achieve budget expense levels. Achieve departmental profit and store profit contribution goals, Develop and maintain creative store layout and product merchandising with advice. You will be encouraged to run the Bakery as if it was your own business (within certain Whole Foods guidelines). Ensure that Store policies & procedures (specific to the team) are being followed and executed properly. To lead your team with the commitment to leadership and with enthusiasm expected of someone interested in future store, regional or national leadership position. REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrated two or more years of experience directing a team of five or more people. Ability to instruct and train new and existing Bakery Team Members. Strong knowledge of general Bakery procedures and baking practices. Previous experience as a Team Leader, Assistant Team Leader or equivalent. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to solve business-related problems. Strong organizational skills. Computer experience including Word, Excel, and systems applications. Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the department. Essential Job Functions: Proven experience in baking, and cake decorating ideally working with celebration cakes etc, Computer skills, Good level of communication in the English language both verbal and written, Passion for Cakes, Strong work ethic, Ability to work on your own and under pressure, Ability to work with a team, assign tasks and be a leader by example. Available to start ASAP, Flexible - shifts will be 5 days between Mon-Sat so you will be expected to work over weekends, and we are open late Thurs-Sat so you must be able to work later shifts to 9pm if needed as well early shifts starts at 8am. Excellent personal presentation is a must as well as Understanding of requirements for working with cakes as orders will need to be taken from customers.
