WE ARE NOT BLIND The continuing utterances by the leader of the FFP is an embarrassment, if not to his colleagues, but definitely to the cadre of past Fijis political leaders and definitely to us common citizens. All his campaign speeches delivered locally and abroad have been laced with vile attacks on past governments and their leaders. Whilst he is having a field day on criticisms, criticisms, criticisms.... and boasting, boasting, boasting...of his regimes achievements in the last 8 years, he has not paused to evaluate the truths about his utterances... The public have now got a good glimpse of his military-style/dictatorial leadership. One can easily see this from his body language/facial language throughout his 8 year rule, modelled on militant orders other than consultations and consensus. The scars of the wrath of his militant leadership is permanently etched in the lives of hundreds of citizens who have been arrested, assaulted and killed by his military and police thugs. Civil servants and others semi-government workers have suffered through terminations without a fair trial. Has he ever stopped to consider that most of his so called achievements have been the continuation and completion of socioeconomic capital projects initially developed by the past governments? These includes roads, bridges, dams, sea walls, jetties, health centres etc. etc. He has refused to acknowledge the work of past governments who have to rule within the laws of a democracy. Has he ever realised that his so called achievements have been made possible through the whims of one person or a small group of mostly inexperienced persons? Has he ever considered that it become his regimes obligation to carry out developments since he removed the elected government in Dec. 2006? One can go on and on and expose publicly the uncertainty of his regimes shady dealings, which are questionable and lacks transparency and integrity. So please Mr PM stop fooling yourself and say something positive for once, as election is around the corner!!!
