WE ARE STILL ASLEEP: Its no secret we are in obscure times. Racial injustice is at an all-time high in these last generations through our civil and court systems. Color determines the value of life whether the person is a criminal or law-abiding citizen. We need to universally acknowledge that all ethnic groups arent treated the same. We are made of the same inner parts, breath the same air, make the same social contributions that runs the daily operations of the world we live in, yet denied the value & civil rights human beings deserve. That being said, my condolences goes to the families of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin, and any others who have been victims of our flawed justice system. . TO BLACKS & HISPANICS: Its understandable & okay to be angry and frustrated with current events. The bible says Be angry and do not sin (Ephesians 4:26). Hate speech, labeling, rioting, looting, vandalizing, hostile protest (spewing words of hate at all officers on duty & other anger-displacement) is sin. These actions are not the answer. Furthermore, it reinforces why we are devalued. Refrain from things that would further label you, which arent expedient. This ranges to a variety of things I can easily think of, but will suspend itemizing a list, as to avoid further controversy amongst those of my own ethnicity. It cant be denied that some of these things contribute to how were perceived; wouldnt you agree?. Please take more productive measures of civil action. I thought the Black Friday boycott was a great idea and brilliant place to start. TO WHITES & OTHER ETHNIC GROUPS: Before we get too comfy thinking were exempt from these social issues, please realize this problem affects us ALL as a people of a nation. To escape it, you or the persecuted race would need to relocate to another part of the world, and I dont think neither one of us are going anywhere; dont you? That being said, I feel a bit more compassion is needed toward the ones who are undergoing these persecutions. Nobody likes to be devalued, but accepted & seen as an asset to their community. It grieves me to see posts on my news feed of long time friends who make value judgements on these issues based on biased opinions. Realize people are people and we all arent perfect, but thats not deserving of the treatment being demonstrated in our society to targeted ethnic groups. Avoid being desensitized and think, Wow, this could be me or someone in my family that this has happened to. I feel this would bring perspective, as all people of like color arent the same. TO EVERYONE (unless youre an extraterrestrial): Love one another as Christ (God) loves us (John 15:12). This is the greatest commandment of all. Dont allow the unpleasantness of current events to cause strife and racial divide among us. Stand up for moral justice no matter your ethnicity and embrace EVERYONE as an extended member of your family. And finally, 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
