WE HAVENT GONE FAR ENOUGH IN OUR VISION FOR IKOGOSI WARM SPRING - FAYEMI The people of Ikogosi-Ekiti in Ekiti West Local Government say Governor Kayode Fayemi executes his 8-point agenda like a determined lion in pursuit of a prey and who does not rest until it has the prey within its grasp. They made the statement at the official commissioning of Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort and presentation of a book written by the Governor Reclaiming the Legacy. The spokesperson of the town, Mr. Aaron Adeniji, said the Fayemi administration has no doubt transformed the spring to an international standard and that by so doing, he has written his name in gold. He expressed the appreciation of the Ikogosi community towards the total turn-around that has taken place at the spring, stressing that the whole community would love to see him continue in office beyond 2014. Mr Adeniji said: In view of the transformation of Ikogosi Warm Spring into the Mecca-Medina of Africa, Ikogosi community is proud of you, sir. We are sure that the Oke-Lagba site of the first plane crash in Africa will also witness transformation. Ikogosi nfe o leekeji. By the power of the springs warm and cold water, by the power of Almighty God, it shall be so). The town presented the governor with a ram as a show of love. In his remarks, Governor Kayode Fayemi said the next phase of the turn-around of the Ikogosi Warm Spring would include a games reserve, golf course, a sports complex and a sports academy where young athletes will be groomed. In addition to this, 150 rooms will also be added to the current 100 rooms at the resort. It is very well to say that we have come far in our vision for this place, but we havent gone far enough, Governor Fayemi said. He told the gathering that the battle to develop and restore Ekiti back to the path of honour is a collective one in which every well-meaning person must enlist, hence the need to join hands to achieve success. The Governor thanked his wife, party members and the people of Ekiti State for their unwavering support and for entrusting him with the leadership of the state. The book written by the governor was reviewed by the Chairman, Editorial Board of The Nation newspaper, Sam Omatseye, and presented by Otunba Niyi Adebayo, the first civilian governor of Ekiti State. Artistes of Ekiti origin such as Sasha, Peju Ogunmola, Jimoh Aliu, Peter Fatomilola, Moji Olaiya, Micho Ade, Foluke Daramola and Professor of Choreography Rasak Ojo were honoured on the occasion as Ekiti Cultural Ambassadors.
