WE REJECT GOVERNOR AMOSUNS REDUCTION This afternoon, the Ogun State Government, through its Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barr. Segun Odubela announced reduction in fees paid in tertiary institutions in Ogun state, in which he announced that of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye. He announced that the reduction will only take effect next session. First, the reduction announced does not agree with the collective decision of OOU students that they would not pay any amount higher than N50, 000. The students made it crystal clear to both the Students Union representatives and the university management that they would accept nothing more than N50, 000. Let it be stated clearly that as an organization, WE REJECT THE REDUCTION IMPLEMENTED BY GOVERNOR AMOSUN. Let it be clear that WE SEE AS HYPOCRITICAL THE FACT THAT WHATEVER REDUCTION IS IMPLEMENTED WONT TAKE EFFECT THIS SESSION BUT WILL ONLY BE IMPLEMENTED BEGINNING FROM NEXT SESSION. We are not fools. We know what we want and we will not stop until we get it. The reduction Governor Amosun announced is a joke; we refuse to take it serious. Since Governor Amosun has decided not to implement the demands of OOU Students, we are prepared to start cooking beans and frying Akara at Oke-Imosan.
