WE RESPOND TO YOUR FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ON THE ONGOING END USER TRAINING ON SINGLE WINDOW SYSTEM 1.WHO QUALIFIES FOR THE END USER TRAINING ON SINGLE WINDOW SYSTEM? · The applicants must be computer literate and also an End User of the Single Window System.These includes: Clearing and Forwarding Agent/officer Exporter or Importer, Shipping Agents, Consolidators, Container Freight Stations handlers and Slot Chatterers etc. 2.IS KENTRADE DEALING WITH INDIVIDUALS DIRECTLY OR THROUGH THE UMBRELLA BODIES LIKE KIFWA AND KENYA SHIP AGENTS? · This is a national exercise that involves several government agencies and registered organizations that are directly involved with the cargo clearance at the Kenyan Ports and border points. We are therefore working very closely with the Authorized Economic Operators/Other Government Agencies and stakeholders. KenTrade also appreciate the level of interests from users who don’t belong to the listed groups and has therefore scheduled training for them. 3.WHEN AND WHERE ARE THE TRAINING SCHEDULED TO BEGIN? · The trainings are ongoing in Mombasa (at Bandari College and KIFWA Offices), Nairobi (at Inland Container Depot, East Africa School of Aviation and KENTRADE offices Nairobi). In western Kenya the exercise is taking place at Malaba (at Malaba Border Point Hotel) and Busia (at Hotel Rowcena). 4.I SUBMITTED MY APPLICATIONS FOR TRAINING AND MY NAME IS NOT ON THE LIST,WHAT SHOULD I DO? · We would like to assure applicants with proof of submission of application for the End User Training as per the Public Notice on the same that sufficient steps have been taken to ensure all deserving cases are trained. 5.WHO IS FUNDING THE END USER TRAINING ? · The exercise including the setting up of the Training Facilities is funded by the Investment Climate Facility(ICF). 6.
