WEATHER BULLETIN NUMBER NINE TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING: TROPICAL DEPRESSION #QueeniePH ISSUED AT 5:00 AM, 28 NOVEMBER 2014 “QUEENIE” HAS CROSSED NORTHERN PALAWAN AND IS NOW MOVING TOWARDS THE WEST PHILIPPINE SEA. Location of eye/center: At 4:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “QUEENIE” was estimated based on all available data at 120 km North of Puerto Princesa City (10.9°N, 118.9°E). Strength: Maximum winds of 55 kph near the center. Movement: Forecast to move West Northwest at 24 kph. Forecast Positions: “QUEENIE” is now over the western coast of northern Palawan and moving towards the west Philippine sea. By tomorrow morning, it is expected to be at 620 km West Northwest of Puerto Princesa City, and will exit the western border of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) in between 7 to 8 PM. By Sunday morning, it is expected to be at 1,230 km West Northwest of Puerto Princesa City. PSWS #1 Palawan including the Calamian Group of Islands and Cuyo Islands. • Public Storm Warning Signal (PSWS) elsewhere are now lowered. • Estimated rainfall amount is from 7 – 15 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression. Meanwhile, A Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 1,000 kms East Southeast of Southern Mindanao (04.0°N, 135.0°E). • Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under PSWS#1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. • Fisherfolks and those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the seaboards of Palawan.
