WEATHER SUMMARY FOR SOUTHERN OREGON AND NORTHERN CALIFORNIA We are back to sunshine and above average temps now through Memorial Day itself. A ridge is slowly working its way in today further bumping the low that produced the showers and thunderstorms the past few days to the east. There will be areas of low clouds for the valleys west of the Cascades again this morning, but those should be quick to burn off. We will be back to the low 80s today and then will see upper 80s tomorrow. A trough will sag towards our area starting on Friday. This will drop temps gradually each day through the holiday weekend. It will also create the chance for mountain showers and thunderstorms on Friday afternoon and evening. Along the Coast the marine layer will thicken up and we could be seeing showers develop there Friday night and then lasting through the weekend. This will not likely be a total rainout kind of a thing, but it will keep things cool and damp, especially at night and in the mornings. Inland we will see another chance for showers arriving on Memorial Day for northern areas of Oregon. This could make it as far south as Roseburg, but tough to say at this time. We will see temps dropping further and by Memorial Day they will be pretty much right on average in the mid 70s. The best chance for showers in our area looks to come on Tuesday of next week as the trough begins to push east. Once that trough goes through.....look out! We should see a very strong ridge with an Omega Block develop. That will likely launch us into our typical summer pattern of sunny today, sunny tomorrow. But it will also kick off what is expected to be a very hot June.
