WEATHER SUMMARY FOR SOUTHERN OREGON AND NORTHERN - TopicsExpress

WEATHER SUMMARY FOR SOUTHERN OREGON AND NORTHERN CALIFORNIA Very little change really in the forecasts for the next week. A really deep marine layer pushed into the Umpqua Basin and has kept Douglas County in low clouds today. Those should burn off later this afternoon. Also later this afternoon, we will have a chance to see some thunderstorms develop over higher terrain. This will be most likely east of the Cascades, and down in Northern California, but a storm or two could pop over the Cascades and Siskiyous. Tomorrow looks to be a very active thunderstorm day. Expect widespread thunderstorm activity as two shortwaves come through the area at just the right time to fire off storms. The bulk of the storms will be over the higher terrain, east of the Cascades, and down in Northern California in all areas there. This is also when the Rogue and Illinois Valleys could see an isolated storm come out overhead. Come Tuesday the thunderstorm threat looks like it will be over. What lies ahead will plenty of sunshine with highs traversing between the low to upper 80s. Warm for this time of the year, but certainly not the heat we are expecting to see arrive later on in the month.
