WEATHER UPDATE: Although there have been some scattered reports of light snow flurries in the immediate area, Hunt County and the surrounding region will not see any significant snow, and probably not any snow, outside of a few flakes here and there. According to the National Weather Service: Radar returns can be seen on radar this morning for areas along the Red River. Scattered returns can be expected to continue throughout the day and overnight. However, no snow is expected to reach the surface. A very dry layer in the atmosphere from 8,000 feet to the surface will cause any snowflakes to dissipate as they fall. Only cold air and windy conditions can be expected for the northern half of North Texas. The temperature at Majors Field, the City of Greenville Municipal Airport, was already below freezing, at 30 degrees, as of 2:50 p.m. today. The low overnight is expected to fall to 16 degrees, so area residents are encouraged to take precautions to protect pipes, plants and pets.
