The weather bureau warned the public of moderate to occasionally heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms that may trigger flashfloods and landslides in some affected areas such Mimaropa, Bicol region, Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga. “Metro Manila and the regions of Ilocos, Calabarzon, the provinces of Zambales and Bataan, and the rest of Mindanao will be cloudy with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms,” Pagasa said. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest to southeast will prevail over Luzon and coming from the southwest to west over Visayas and Mindanao. The cosastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough, it said. Although Emong “is still too far to directly affect any part of the country,” it is likely to intensify within the next 24 to 48 hours, prompting the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) to direct all its local line agencies “to undertake precautionary measures in the area of responsibility.” “Advise local disaster units to initiate pre-emptive evacuation of families in low-lying and mountainous areas if situation warrants,” NDRMMC Executive Director Eduardo del Rosario said. >>>> WANT EXTRA INCOME...
