WEATHER WARNING: Current weather models are beginning to show a small developing area of low pressure located to the Southwest of Ireland. This are of low pressure is expected to feed up Northeastwards later this evening, tonight and early tomorrow. As it does so this system is likely to bring with it some very heavy and possibly thundery downpours. There is still however some uncertainty regarding this systems track and indeed we may be fortunate and have it stay Southeast and just affect the Irish sea counties. Where these downpours do occur though there is likely to be a large amount of rainfall accumulating in a rather short period of time. Areas which are prone to flash flooding should be aware of this over the next 36 hours or so. The areas most at risk of seeing these heavy thundery downpours will be southern and eastern Laois, East Offaly, and Southeast Westmeath. Further west the showers are likely to be less frequent with a fair amount of dry weather expected in these areas. As is the nature with showers some areas may be unfortunate and see a huge volume of showers, where as other areas will see virtually no showers. I will keep you updated as the day continues and will be providing an update on ex-tropical storm Bertha as she approaches Ireland and the Uk. Enjoy todays sunshine, kindest regards, Cathal.
