WEATHER WARNING NOW IN FORCE FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS OF THE SW. Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, Swindon, Wiltshire, Bristol, North Somerset. Valid from 00:05 Tuesday morning until 18:00 Tuesday evening. Please be prepared for disruption due to heavy rain and gales to severe gales. Tonight will see wet and windy conditions sweeping eastwards, the strongest winds are expected to occur after the rain clears. Winds will switch to a NW direction Tuesday morning. Gusts exceeding 55 mph are likely inland across the named areas above with 60 to 70 mph gusts in some exposed coastal areas in the west around the Bristol Channel. Localised flooding is a real concern and a risk for disruption to rail and road networks. Further south into Cornwall, Devon and Dorset we will see strong winds and a pulse of heavy rain push through tonight and gusts up to 50mph widely for a time overnight and first thing tomorrow.
