RESUMPTION of CONTINUING REGISTRATION for Voters, Validation, and Updating of Registration Records for the May 9, 2016 Synchronized National, Local and ARMM Regional Elections WHEN: May 6, 2014 until October 31, 2015, (Sunday-Thursday) *this will be for 1 year and 5 months WHERE: Office of the Election Officer ACTIVITIES covered: 1. Validation of records 2. Application for registration - for new voters 3. Transfer of registration records - for transferees 4. Change/correction of entries - change of civil status, erroneous entries 5. Reactivation of records - for those who failed to vote twice 6. Inclusion of records 7. Reinstatement of names in the list of voters 8. Updating of records of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Senior Citizens (SCs), and members of Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICCs) and Indigenous Peoples’ (IPs) • Transfer of registration records may be availed of by those who transferred from another city or municipality or within the same city or municipality (change of address). • Deactivated registrants (per Section 27 of RA 8189), including those who failed to vote in the two (2) successive preceding regular elections (regular elections do not include SK elections), may come in to reactivate their respective registrations. • Those whose names have been changed by reason of marriage or court order or order of the Civil Registrar/Consul General, or those with erroneous entries like a misspelled name or other typographical errors, or those whose names have been omitted in the precinct certified list or precinct book of voters may come in to process the necessary correction/reinstatement. Full name and birthday NEW VOTERS Section 9 Comelec Reso 9853 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and Senior Citizens Republic Act 10366 or “An Act Authorizing the Commission on Elections to Establish Precincts Assigned to Accessible Polling Places Exclusively for Persons with Disabilities and Senior Citizens” • Updating of Records – PWDs and senior citizens shall update their records to indicate the type of disability and the type of assistance needed on Election Day (use Annex E or the Supplemental Form) • Assistance during Registration – In accomplishing the application for registration, a PWD or a senior citizen may be assisted by the EO, any member of the accredited citizens’ arm, a relative, or a person of his/her confidence who lives in the same household. • Conduct of satellite registration in accessible venues • Creation of Special Precincts – The Commission will create at least one (1) precinct of a non-territorial nature for registered PWD and senior citizen voters who gave their consent to vote in the accessible polling place. • Reasonable accommodation to PWDs and senior citizens to enable them to accomplish the ballots by themselves • Assistors to accomplishment the ballot • Sensitivity training for persons with election duties Indigenous Peoples The Committee on Indigenous Peoples aims to make the registration process more accessible pursuant to the Commission’s pursuit of a more inclusive election. In order to do this, field officials will conduct satellite registration in areas more accessible to the IPs.
