WEEK 23 – Wahlbergs Eagle / Wahlberg- of Bruinarend / Hieraaetus wahlbergi Length: 55 – 60 cm Weight: 0.44 – 1.44 kg Females are larger than males Wingspan: +/– 1.41 m Medium Large. Although most individuals are brown, a confusing variety of colour forms occur, from dark brown to almost white. The body shape is thus the easiest way to distinguish it from other brown eagles with fully feathered legs. It is a small, slenderly built eagle, not showing the powerful classic eagle shape of Tawny and Steppe Eagles. The face is small and pointed with a slight crest on the back of the head, although this is not always visible.
