WENATCHEE — A Wenatchee police officer made ethical missteps that could affect criminal cases in which he arrested suspects or gave testimony, according to city attorneys. Officer Scott Reiber, 36, made “untrue statements to a fellow police officer related to the cancellation of a scheduled training event,” according to a letter emailed Thursday to 25 local defense lawyers by assistant city attorney Danielle Marchant. In another instance, Reiber took “a coffee card from the Special Services Division office in the Wenatchee Police station without permission. Reiber is the officer who fatally shot drug suspect Robert Jeffrey “Jeff” Harris in a Taco Bell parking lot Dec. 12. The ethical incidents attributed to Reiber took place in September 2012 and February 2013 respectively, predating the shooting. Full story at tinyurl/ktxy7h2 (subscription required).
