WFC 2013 Group D team presentations: DEN, GER, JPN, CAN – 27.11.2013 Denmark and Germany are the top ranked teams in group D. Denmark is ranked 9th and Germany 11th. Canada will make a comeback to the women´s Final Round after missing out in 2011 and Japan will bring some Asian flavour to this group. Denmark and Germany played three tight international matches in September, Denmark winning two of them and Germany one. Official WFC 2013 website: wfc2013.cz Group D Team presentations Denmark The team is experiencing a generation change, so the aim is to make the best performance based on the team´s qualities. Denmark hopes to make it to the second round. Players to watch: Cecilia De Nardo: Strong in all parts of the game. She has experience from the highest league in Sweden, which makes her a vital part of the team. Mette Faurholt: She has played in the national team for many years. With her experience and routine she is a very important player. Jasmin Damm: A fast striker, with a goal scoring talent. It´s her second WFC and she will combine a young player´s hunger with experience. # 23. C. De Nardo # 2 M. Faurholt # 6 J. Damm Germany Germany has a pretty young team in this WFC. Most of the players will play their first or second international tournament, so we are hungry to win games and try to play our best floorball. Players to watch: Madeleine Heiskanen: One of the most technical players in the team. Her strength in one on one situations and shooting skills will make the opponents stumble. Franziska Mietzsch: The captain is a strong defender. She leads the team on and off the court. Pauline Baumgarten: Her skills are known not only in Germany. With only 19 years she is one of the best players in the team. # 22 M. Heiskanen # 44 F. Mietzsch # 5 # 5 P. Baumgarten Japan Japan will start the WFC with a fresh team. The aim is to enjoy the high level of international floorball games and and improve the ranking. Players to watch Yui Takahashi: With only 24 years she is playing her 5th WFC. She is small but her fighting skills are extraordinary. Yui Goto: Her potential in Floorball is enormous. She´s got a lot of capacity as well as both physical and technical skills. Keiko Ida: The most experienced player. She is clever and cheerful and playing her 7th WFC. # 10 Y. Takahashi # 3 Y. Goto # 4 K. Ida EngbergCanada Canada is excited to continue their winning streak and make Canada proud. Our aim is to become the highest ranked Canadian floorball team. Players to watch: Christi McKinney: She was one of the leading scorers in the last U19 WFC and was named to the All Star team. Now she moved up to the women´s squad. Rebecca Johnson: A strong defender that make the transition to floorball from hockey. She was also a part of the last U19 national team. Johanna Laurila: She learned her skills by growing up in Finland. Her knowledge and experience is a welcome addition to team Canada. # 94 C. McKinney # 17 R. Johnson # 15 J.
