WHAT A DAY! After waiting until 9 PM to get confirmation from loaders booked and paid for several weeks ago through moving help (which we found through UHaul) that they were actually going to make it at 9:30 this morning, we cancelled the back-up plans wed hastily thrown together when we learned there may be a problem late yesterday afternoon. The company owner had a family emergency out of state - which we totally understood and sympathized with. What seemed odd was that he was scrambling to find a crew hours before a job he had committed them to weeks before... None the less, we felt obligated to cancel our back-up and move forward with him when he called after working from out of state to pull his crew together. He assured us they were experienced and reliable and we appreciated that hed gotten things in line despite his personal struggles. We picked up our 26 ft truck from U-haul with no problem and had it ready and waiting at 9:00 AM. Well....its nearly 4 now and NO ONE SHOWED UP! We called the crew foreman several times and still have not gotten a return call. MOVINGHELP.COM IS NO HELP AT ALL! It took more than an hour to even get an online chat going after finally realizing there was no hope of a human ever getting on the phone...and then all they could offer was youre right, there is nobody else available today. Would you like to re-schedule? NOOOOO! Just a word of advice...NEVER USE MOVINGHELP.COM! UHAUL, on the other hand was extremely accommodating and ABC Movers here in Great Falls seem like they will do an excellent job when they move us on Friday. Pleas let this be true! Thanks to this whole mess we will not be in Kalispell tomorrow to meet with our builders, we will not be in Lakeside tomorrow PM as planned to help Brig get her crew in, we will not be able to be in Missoula Thursday night as planned to pick Chase up when he flies in from CA, and we will miss Brians groups gig in Helena that we were very much looking forward to Friday night. On the plus side...Ray has now calmed down enough to be laying down napping in the midst of the chaos that was our house and he is snoring peacefully. Tomorrows another day :-)
