WHAT A LOAD OF BULLSHIT..... read this in the daily a Two people in Astoria shooting airsoft guns at each other may find out the hard way that an airsoft gun is still considered a firearm within the city limits. After a caller reported the duo for pointing what looked like a handgun, the city attorney has been forwarded the case to decide whether the two will face charges for disorderly conduct and discharging a firearm within the city limits. At 10:27 p.m. Wednesday, Astoria Police received a call from a citizen on the 800 block of Harrison Avenue. The caller stated a male was pointing a silver handgun at a female before both left in a tan colored older model Jeep. Officers pulled over the vehicle near Safeway, and spoke with the occupants, Brett Francis, 23, of rural Astoria, and Shanna Killion, 23, of rural Astoria. Both admitted to pointing the gun at each other, but “seemed unimpressed” with the officers and their concerns about the situation, stating they both were just “messing around.” “They both seemed unimpressed with why officers were so worried about this, but it’s a concern for officers and for the people who called. Some of those airsoft guns, there is no way to tell at any distance whether they are real,” Deputy Police Chief Brad Johnston said. “So our message on this is we’d like people to use extreme caution when using one, because they do simulate real guns.”
