WHAT ABOUT RESPECT – WISDOM FOR LIFE, JOB AND BUSINESS Do not be partial to the poor or favor the wealthy in judgment, but in righteousness shall you judge. Respect the covenant, meditate in God’s precepts, and respect His way and statutes continually. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment, for there is no respect of persons with God. If you show special respect to him that wears fine clothing, and say to him, sit here in a good place, and then say to poor, stand over there, or sit here under my footstool, are you then not partial in yourselves, and become judges of evil thoughts? Listen, has not God chosen the poor of this world, rich in faith, and heirs of the Kingdom which he has promised to them that love Him? Let nothing be done through strife or conceit; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem the other better than themselves. Be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another, rendering therefore to all their dues; tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; respect to whom respect and honor to whom honor. Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine. Honor the King. Those who do not regard the works of the Eternal nor the operation of His hands, He will destroy and not build them up. He that regards reproof shall be honored and is prudent, therefore esteem all His precepts. Honor and respect your father and mother that your days may be long upon the land which the Eternal your God gives you. Rise in the presence of the aged, show respect for the face of an old man and fear your God. And those that honor God, He will honor, but they that despise God shall be lightly esteemed. So honor the Eternal with your substance and with the first fruits of all your increase. All men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honors not the Son honors not the Father which sent Him. Also, reverence God’s sanctuary; He is the Eternal. Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us and we gave them reverence; shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. Remember, if you honor yourself, your honor is nothing. Seek the honor that only comes from God (Psalm 119:172, Dan. 12:3, Deut. 6:25, Matt. 5:19, Eccl. 12:13-14).
