WHAT AN AMAZING WORLD Here is a picture of my morning work out on my bike. I usually stop by the Islamorada Fire House to say hello. Supposed to blow 20 to 30 knots this weekend and will try to go for Mangrove snappers in the bay. Yesterday I met with my Evinrude Warranty dealer, Markey’s Marine. Their technician Jim ran both the engines on a plug-in computer. My goodness it blew me away. It showed the percentage of horsepower used on every trip and it also showed a complete history of every trip. My engines got a great bill of health. The mechanic bled out the power steering by Sea Star. My engines have 66.6 hours total time. Evinrude says no maintenance for 300 hours, I have decided to do gear, oil and filters every 100 hours, new spark plugs every 175 hours and a complete Evinrude 300 hour inspection at 200 hours. That’s what makes me feel comfortable on my engines. Every time I look at my Evinrude E-Tec’s I say to myself “American made baby, American made” and it makes me proud to be an American. I learned a lot from talking with the mechanic, spraying a little Corrosion Proof on top of the stators and magnets is a good idea. I pride myself on keeping Makaira, my 26 foot Andros at zero defect. It makes me feel good. Hope everyone has a good weekend. Happy Halloween and be safe.
