WHAT ARE OUR LCU GRADUATES DOING TODAY? LCU Graduate Matthew Ung, M.Th, was elected to the County Board of Supervisors in Woodbury County, Iowa! When Matthew Ung applied to be a student at LCU in September 2012, he wrote as part of his ministry goals, I would like to apply my ministry knowledge to the realm of politics...which affects everyones life, leading them closer to or pushing them further away from Jesus. Matthew graduated from Life Christian University on October 13, 2013 with his Master of Arts in Theology, Magna Cum Laude. On November 4, 2014, despite every single endorsing organization giving their support to his opponent, despite shameless smear campaigns, despite the other side being so prejudiced against his Christian church that they made it a front-page campaign issue in the newspaper, and despite parroting of the lie that Ung is too divisive, he still managed to unite a 10-point majority of voters, winning the office of County Supervisor in Woodbury County, Iowa! He shocked the opposition, proved the electoral predictions of the Sioux City Journal wrong, and sure surprised some local TV stations which actually reported he had lost! On Monday, November 10, with full media coverage at the County Courthouse, Matthews wife held the Holy Bible while he took the oath of office. They say Woodbury County doesnt require you to say, so help me God at the end of the oath, but Matthew said, Theres a good 100% chance that Ill say it. At age 26 he is now the youngest Woodbury County Supervisor! Congratulations, Matthew! We are confident that this is just the beginning of your political career - and that greater things lie ahead.
