WHAT ARE THE EXPERIENCES OF YOUNG DEAF PEOPLE? Earlier this year, we chose 6 young deaf people for a film making project. Working with professional filmmakers Sprout Media, the young people learnt a variety of film-making techniques including filming, editing, interviewing and story planning. The outcome was a short documentary Deafinitely Me about their life experiences so far with a focus on school, work, home life, identity and play. It is interesting to see the different stories of these young people; the challenges they have faced, how they have overcome them and their future aspirations.
