WHAT IM THINKING ABOUT: The Dissolution of Mars Hill Church in Seattle On New Years Day, Mars Hill church will dissolve its multi-site structure, allowing campuses to become self sustaining churches or close the doors of video-lead sites. Though directly connected to the events surrounding Mark Driscoll and the leadership issues at Mars Hill, all is not lost. I believe creating and releasing self sustaining churches with pastors who preach live (vs. using the video sermons of super preachers) is the way to go. So, while a larger multi-site church will dissolve as a result if many internal issues, hopefully we will see the creation of many healthy, self-sustaining churches reaching all kinds of people, nurtured by the preaching/teaching of a variety of gifted pastors.
