WHAT IS BEING SAVED? WHAT IT MEANS TO OVERCOME WHO IS THE OVERCOMER? These are from excerpts I shared in a huge discussion under one of my posts: THEY DESERVE A WIDER AUDIENCE. I PRAY THEY BENEFIT YOU. I believe God hears and answers our intercessions for the lost: It is so important that we pray everyday. It may mean the salvation of someones soul. Everyday, I intercede for people before the Lord, that they TRULY are a part of the Body of Christ, the called-out assembly, the Born Again Church of the firstborn (Jesus). May they make decisions for Jesus BEFORE they find themselves left behind. and if they do find themselves in the Tribulation, I pray God is able to reach them EVEN then, that they become Tribulation saints, and find themselves under the altar of God, safe (through death) from the Antichrist, Satan and hell. ALSO, there is a GOLDEN CENSOR at the Throne of God--Revelation 5:8, full of the prayers of His people. I see OUR prayers, even now, in that censor, answered by God. He will answer them in His time....remember, it IS His will that NONE should perish but come to FAITH in Jesus. We pray, believing these promises. The rest is in Gods hands. So what does it mean to be BORN AGAIN? It starts with JESUS: We place our FAITH is in Jesus. We believe (trust in, have confidence, rely upon) that WHEN Jesus died for us, we died WITH Him, and our sins were buried WITH Him, as He PAID IN FULL Gods penalty of death--FOR US, IN OUR PLACE. Then we also believe that WHEN Jesus ROSE from the dead, we ROSE with Him into the NEWNESS OF LIFE. Romans 6:3-14. THAT IS OUR JUSTIFICATION. We are declared NOT GUILTY of our sin, because we believe in and ACCEPT Jesus payment for those sins, when He died for us. The Gospel is so simple, even a little child can KNOW it and receive Jesus. He died...we died with Him. He rose...we rose into NEWNESS of life with Him. When we receive that, we are BORN AGAIN of the Holy Spirit--we become NEW CREATURES. Simple as that. From that point forward, the Holy Spirit teaches us, leads us into the Word, renews our minds and our thinking TO LINE UP WITH GODS INSTRUCTIONS. The sanctification part of our walk with the Lord is a LIFE LONG process. Yes, we sin, we fall down, we skin our knees. The Holy Spirit will show us WHEN we fall short, and UNTIL we confess of our falling short, of missing the mark, of sinning...AND UNTIL we repent, ask for forgiveness, and renew the fellowship we lost, well be miserable. 1 John 1:9 assures us that AS WE CONFESS OUR SIN, He is FAITHFUL and JUST, and FORGIVES our sin and CLEANSES us of unrighteousness. This is THE SOAP, whereby our white righteous garments are cleansed of the spots, dust and dirt we get upon us as we dwell on this sin-infested planet, and deal with our own lusts and desires of the flesh while existing in these unglorified bodies--that still have the sin-nature. Through this process, we LEARN that to be the happiest and most peaceful IS WHEN we line-up our lives in agreement with Gods Word--with love and thankfulness to Jesus--AS our motive. In other words, we DESIRE to live as God shows us in His Word. That is a work of the Holy Spirit inside us. If we do not have the Holy Spirit motivating us like this, its a sign that we have not been Born Again of Him. Think about it! For the blind, it takes a SPECIAL MOMENT from God to wake one up. I believe some of those GOD MOMENTS happen because we PRAY for others, just like I know my Mom and sister prayed for me. Then the person must choose the GIFT OF LIFE in Jesus. To reject the call or to say not now--is to destine oneself to be in the presence of evil for eternity, separated from God, with fire, darkness, cold, fear and being alone--FOREVER and EVER. JESUS DIED A HORRIFIC DEATH ON THE CROSS TO SAVE US FROM SUCH AN ETERNITY! But in order to KNOW, we must be TAUGHT the truth...NOT a bunch of worldly opinions, and certain NOT the compromised word being preached in many of todays lukewarm Churches. GODS WORD IS THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH. His Word will ABIDE forever!!! God doesnt want to send people to hell, which He created as a JAIL or PRISON HOUSE for the devil and his fallen angels. God did all He can do to SAVE mankind from such a bleak eternity. He sent His Son, Jesus. He gave mankind the freedom to choose. We can gladly accept LIFE through FAITH in Jesus, who died and rose again, so that IN HIM, we die to our sins and are RAISED WITH HIM into the NEWNESS of life. ....OR....we can choose death, by REJECTING THE WAY God has provided in Jesus. By believing the lies of Satan and/or the misinterpretations of the sin-infested world, we can choose an eternity in hell...surrounded by fire, darkness, evil, feeling cold and abandoned, without God, without peace, in torment, without joy, in sorrow and anguish, alone, full of regret, FOREVER AND EVER. GOD SAYS CHOOSE LIFE, CHOOSE JESUS!!! THIS IS the essence of the Gospel--For I (Paul) delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, HOW THAT CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES; AND THAT HE WAS BURIED, AND THAT HE ROSE AGAIN THE THIRD DAY ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES: Yes, this is the Gospel, the GOOD NEWS. Jesus DID IT ALL for us, according to the scriptures. When we believe and ACCEPT this as GODS GREAT GIFT (of GRACE) TO US, we become BORN AGAIN. And we LIVE life according to the power which LIVES in us, even the Spirit--The Holy Spirit will guide us, teach us the Word, and set works in front of us that He will EMPOWER us to do. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO OVERCOME? The Bible gives us a succinct answer: AGAIN, KEEP IT SIMPLE. 1 John 5:4-5--For WHATSOVER is BORN of God (Born Again) OVERCOMES the world: and this IS THE VICTORY that OVERCOMES the world, EVEN OUR FAITH. Who is he that OVERCOMES THE WORLD, but he that BELIEVES that Jesus is the Son of God? We are given an OVERCOMING faith, and we WALK in the Spirit, choosing TO NOT give in to the lusts of the flesh. Romans 8:1. It is the POWER of the Holy Spirit in us, through being Born Again, that enables us to OVERCOME. Not even the gates of hell can OVERCOME a Spirit-filled Church. Matthew 16:18. We are saved by GRACE (Gods gift to us) through FAITH (belief in Gods Son, Jesus), it is NOT of ourselves, it is A GIFT OF GOD, and NOT of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-10. Any works that we do are because we were CREATED (Born Again) IN Christ Jesus, and we FOLLOW the leading of the Holy Spirit as He empowers us to WALK in those works, which are IN LINE with Gods Word and IN His Will. Therefore, any works that we do, we do so by yielding to Jesus and following Him--as He does HIS WORKS IN US, and this is not of ourselves (NOT in our flesh, but through the Holy Spirit). In order to walk this way, we must KNOW the Word of God, having our minds RENEWED by it. And that is a LIFELONG process called SANCTIFICATION. And Jesus is our SANCTIFICATION, too. By the way, I believe that once we are BORN AGAIN, by the power of Holy Spirit and the truth of Jesus, we cannot turn around of our own selves, and become UNBORN again. It is the POWER of the Holy Spirit which has SEALED us unto the day of redemption, when we will be given our new glorified bodies. According to the letters to the Churches in the book of Revelation, there are OVERCOMERS in each one of the seven. Those who OVERCOME are the ones WHO REPENT of the errors being pointed out. That means to do a 180 degree about-face, seek Jesus, and walk in His way. For Ephesus--To those who lose their first love--to REPENT is to get back to the joy of their salvation and walk in the Spirit (NOT just doing a duty FOR Jesus, but to have A RENEWED FELLOWSHIP with Him, and live in His AGAPE love, abiding with Him, talking and communing with Him, BEFORE doing any duty). For Smyrna--very persecuted, and even martyred: the OVERCOMER there loves NOT his own life, but willingly gives his life even to the death. Only the Holy Spirit can give that kind of GRACE. For Pergamos--the Church who BLENDS and MIXES itself with WORLDLY ideas and the concepts of false religions. To REPENT--is to accept Jesus sacrifice on the cross, and get back to HIS WORD ALONE, and HIS FELLOWSHIP. For Thyatira--the Church who follows a FALSE BABYLONIAN prophetess, Jezebel (symbol of Roman Catholicism), which places A BURDEN upon its members to DO SACRAMENTS in addition to, and instead of just trusting in Christs work on the cross. This is the Church of continual sacrifice--which says that in order to be saved, a person must belong to that Church and follow the dictates of the Jezebel, the Papacy. OVERCOMERS repent by rejecting the false teachings of the Papacy, and by placing true heart, solid faith in Jesus work on the cross. For Sardis--the DEAD Church. How can a Church be dead? By trusting only in HEAD KNOWLEDGE, in mans traditions. This is a Church with dry and dusty orthodoxy--WITHOUT THE LIFE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. To REPENT in this Church means to BECOME BORN AGAIN, not being just RELIGIOUS, but to have THE NEWNESS OF LIFE in Jesus. THEN the one in Sardis joins the ranks of the OVERCOMER. For Philadelphia--to OVERCOME is to HOLD FAST to what this Church has (the whole counsel of God) until Jesus comes in the Rapture. For Laodecia--having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof. Apathetic, LUKEWARM, compromising with the world, and NOT Born Again, because Jesus is OUTSIDE of this Church, knocking to be let in. The call in this Church is to ANY INDIVIDUAL who HEARS Jesus voice. The OVERCOMER in this Church needs to REPENT of being INDIFFERENT and COMPROMISED, and to become BORN AGAIN. The OVERCOMERS in the Churches are BORN AGAIN, maintaining an alive and active FELLOWSHIP, talking and communing WITH Him through the Word and prayer, and they have a genuine LOVE for the Lord. The OVERCOMERS love not their own lives--they are willing to DIE for Jesus. The OVERCOMERS have a pure Word and Doctrine, which is NOT mingled with worldly opinions. The OVERCOMERS trust ONLY in Jesus blood to make them worthy for heaven (while turning away from the need to continually do RITUALS to insure their salvation--they know that Jesus ALONE is their salvation). The OVERCOMERS are NOT dead Christians in name only, just having head knowledge, nor are they trusting in dry orthodoxy WITHOUT the life of the Holy Spirit (these souls are Born Again). They have THE LIFE of the Holy Spirit. The OVERCOMERS will hold fast to the WHOLE COUNSEL OF GOD until Jesus appears in the Rapture. The OVERCOMERS will not be lukewarm, indifferent, compromising, but again, will express the TRUE LIFE of Jesus by being Born Again of the Holy Spirit. This sums it up. INDEED, WE ARE A NEW CREATION, MADE ONE WITH JESUS, TRUSTING IN HIM, FOLLOWING HIM, HEEDING HIS WORD--and NOT by our own strength, BUT IN THE MIGHT AND POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WHO RESIDES INSIDE OF US. When we are BORN AGAIN, we ARE MADE WORTHY. God reckons us as RIGHTEOUS. 2 Corinthians 5:21--For God has made Him (Jesus) TO BE SIN FOR US, Who knew no sin, that we ARE MADE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN HIM. That is the essence of the Gospel, the GOOD NEWS! CHOOSE JESUS. CHOOSE LIFE. KNOW JESUS. KNOW LIFE. Do not be caught unaware at the Rapture with NO JESUS, NO LIFE. Your future depends upon the choice you make right now. Dont put the decision off for another day. TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION. Tomorrow may be TOO LATE...your eternity sealed. Jesus waits for you with arms wide open. Do not ignore such a great SALVATION. God showed His LOVE for you, in that, while you were yet a sinner, Christ died for you. Yes, FOR YOU. With humble words, accept His GIFT!
