WHAT IS TRUE PROSPERITY AND TRUE WEALTH IN GODs EYES? Let the brother in humble circumstances glory in his elevation [as a Christian, called to the true riches and to be an heir of God], And the rich [person ought to glory] in being humbled [by being shown his human frailty], because like the flower of the grass he will pass away. For the sun comes up with a scorching heat and parches the grass; its flower falls off and its beauty fades away. Even so will the rich man wither and die in the midst of his pursuits. Blessed (happy, to be envied) is the man who is patient under trial and stands up under temptation, for when he has stood the test and been approved, he will receive [the victor’s] crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him.-(JAMES 1:9-12AMP) Its amazing that these days the Church measures the annointing and the favor of God upon somebody on mateirial gains.One Pastor told me that he does not invite a Pastor who does not have a car to come and preach into his church. You will hear a lot of people praising a certain person and also declaring that the person is blessed because he drives the latest model car! Today I want us to see whether that how our Heavenly Father views true wealth or true prosperity! In todays text James teaches us that the poor person should be glad that riches mean nothing to God;otherwise poor people would be considered unworthy.The rich should be glad that money means nothing to God,because money is easily lost.Today Brethrens we must know that we find true wealth by developing our spiritual life,not by developing our financial assets.God is interested in what is lasting (our souls),not in what is temporary (our money and possession) This is what Jesus said concerning our possessions: Other people are like the seeds sown among the thorn bushes. These are the ones who hear the message, but the worries about this life, the love for riches, and all other kinds of desires crowd in and choke the message, and they dont bear fruit.-Mark 4:18,19) If wealth,power,and status mean nothing to God,why do we attribute so much importance to them and so much honor to those who possess them? Do your material possessions give you goals and your only reason for living?If they were gone,what would be left?What you have in your heart,not your bank account,matters to God and endures for eternity! “Do not store up riches for yourselves here on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and robbers break in and steal. Instead, store up riches for yourselves in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and robbers cannot break in and steal. For your heart will always be where your riches are.-(MATTHEW 6:19-21) Do I have a witness here?
