WHAT LIES AHEAD... by Srila Govinda Maharaj Love gives independence to the servitor when it is mixed with free spiritual love. Thats called anuraga. In the lower stages service is always controlled by the regulations of the Scriptures: Do this, dont do that! But as we progress towards our position in the higher plane it becomes free. There is no reaction actually, all activity will give the fruit of ecstasy. Here is what we will get: joy, love, affection in a double way! Your heart will ask you, Do this. No Scripture will come to regulate you. But your heart will tell you what to do, what service you are to do, when there is full faith that you are a bona fide servant. Faith is of the basis of all religion you know. The faithful plane is giving us the ecstatic service connection. And with a strong basis of faith we can play with the Lord through His service. Whatever we want to do, our freedom will give that opportunity for the service of the Lord. Then the type of service will be left to your consideration: do whatever you feel to be best. There will being no restriction upon you. It is the land of spontaneous service. You will do according to your inner capacity and that will be accepted. The hearty things, the sincere flow of service. No thirst from outside, no regulation: you must do this, you must not do that; that sort of law will be withdrawn from you when you reach the plane of spontaneous service, and that is transcendental. After passing for some time through the process of regulated devotional service you will feel this higher plane is my own land, this is my home. In that plane you will find the freedom, sweetness and comfort of your own home... The service world is transcendental and there is all sweetness, all ecstasy, love, affection and a melted heart will taste that, with Love. The Godhead is the emporium of all rasa [sweet relationships], and as He is our relation, we can serve freely because freedom we have, to His divine abode. Serve with our full energy and attention. The Krishna conception is giving us everything in this world if we can promote ourself to that transcendental level. And that level is the service level.
