WHAT WE WANT SEE THIS YEAR Dreaming is strictly non-revenue, I used to kid friends whenever they wish for something. Remember that song Wish Upon a Star, I believe sung by Liza Minelli in that great motion picture Wizard of Oz, if my memory serves me right. Every turn of a new year, we we wish something in our hearts that something really dramatic happen in our lives. Others they do it through what they call their new years resolution. One of the best gifts one can pamper himself with is to dream/wish that he may win the mega lotto jackpot, or win the girl of his dreams in case of a lover boy, or win the dream boy if she is a lovestruck girl. And some political friends maybe wishing that they all demolish all their political rivals in the soon coming electoral exercise. Me, I dispense already in my life dreaming or wishing for something, but not what I wanted to see this year. And here they are: -That all these road constructions in Angeles City, particularly the Pandan-Magalang road and the west circumferential road will be finished in first quarter this year. -That the mountain of garbage at the back of the Pampang Public Market which affects the health of thousands of residents be removed and the area be back to ground zero. -That there will be better traffic management and honest to goodness traffic enforcement in Angeles City. No mercy to traffic violators. No receiving of kotong for enforcers. -That the small portion of road that cuts through between SM Pampanga and Robinsons in the city of San Fernando which is being constructed for the past three years be finished. That Mayor Edwin Santiago stop believing his own press releases and intercede for its completion. - That Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio Singson replaced the inefficient Regional Director Molano. -That the bridge connecting Apalit, Pampanga and Calumpit,Bulacan which has been under contruction for many years be finished this year. -That the environmentalist groups and the DPWH can find a win-win solution so that expansion of the Macarthur Highway be fastracked. -That there should be a one ticketing system for NLEX,SCTEX AND TIPLEX for a seamless travel for motorists. -That the President Pnoy will make an announcement that from hereon there will be a firecracker ban all over the country, the same way he banned wangwang on the roads. -That President Pnoy stop prosecuting his political enemies and he will order the release from hospital arrest former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. -The end of the circus investigations in the Philippine senate which are more in aid of reelections than in aid of legislation. - That there will be a good accounting of how they spend the billions of pesos of conditional cash transfer kuno to the poor but only end in the pocket of you know who. And jail those who pocketed the foreign donations to Typhoon Yolanda victims. -That there will be a cabinet revamp and replace Butch Abad, Babes Singson, Jericho Petilla, Leila De Lima and Joseph Abaya. -That the poor and the middle class families in our society will be rich, and the rich will become middle class and poor. Para maiba naman. - That the good Lord bless us more and our Country. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
