WHD Thank you note from the founder, Nazma Khan: World Hijab Day Bismillah, First and foremost, I want to thank Allah for making World Hijab Day a means of understanding and awareness. Secondly, praise be to Allah for giving us the greatest participants anyone can ask for. Without your involvement in this project none of this would be possible. You took a dream and made it into reality. You chose to stand up to the modern norm and re-educate the world on modesty. You wore the hijab at a time where it is looked down upon, and showed the world that you wore it by choice and not under compulsion. You have taken part in one of the biggest global awareness movements of our time. You have laid the foundations for a better future, a future with “Better awareness, greater understanding, and peaceful world.” Now, I want to take a moment to thank all the people who were the driving force of this global movement. This movement would be impossible without the group effort of World Hijab Day dream team especially our MOST dedicated/hardworking Vice President, Anisa Hagi-Mohamed. You’re an amazing human being, mash’Allah. WHD team is truly blessed to have you, Alhamdulillah. WHD wouldn’t be a global phenomenon without the commitment of World Hijab Day ambassadors throughout the world. Each one of you have exceeded my expectations. I’m truly blessed to have you part of WHD team. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking WHD as your own. I also like to thank sponsors, promoters, supporters, and thousands of volunteers for making WHD a huge success. World Hijab Day received its validation and endorsement from some of the best scholars of our time especially Mufti Ismail Menk. I thank you for constantly being the central pillar of World Hijab Day. You’re truly a mercy from Allah (swt) for World Hijab Day movement. Last but not least, I want to thank my family especially my husband for being a constant support. You’re indeed the fuel of WHD. I couldn’t have done it without your unconditional love, prayer, and support. On behalf of millions of women out there, I say Thank You. I am thrilled to announce that we have exceeded our goal of having one million participants worldwide, Alhamdulillah!!!! For next year (February 1st, 2015), our goal is to have 10 million participants worldwide, insha’Allah (God-willing).
