WHEN CHRONOS AND KAIROS INTERSECT There are times in our lives where unforeseen unexpected circumstances arise that can actually be opportunities to trigger mission and miracles. These are times were chronos time and kairos time intersect. We must discern them and be ready to act. The wedding feast in Cana of Galilee in John 2 was just such a time for Jesus. There are many prophetic and theological perspectives from which one can unpack the layers of this story, but let me just focus in on one. I believe Jesus understanding of his identity and Kingdom mission was a gradual one in his life, with certain milestones such as when he was 12 where he had an amazing time of dialogue with the elders of the temple. Now he is 30, and perhaps he had a sense of there being a certain introductory event or moment that he would discern or control, where his actual mission would begin. He didnt feel this was the hour. But Mary was definitely sensing something when she prepared the way for this miracle by telling the servants: whatever he says - Just Do It! And dirty water used for ceremonial washing was turned into the best wine for the wedding feast so that the joy and celebration could continue. It says in John 2:11, that this first miracle Jesus did revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith and trust in him. This event launched his 3 year ministry leading to his ultimate mission. You may have an idea of how you think God is going to do certain things in your life concerning your future and destiny. You may think you have it all planned and mapped out. But then there will come certain times in your life were chronos and kairos will intersect providing initiating trigger opportunities that will have a miraculous effect of launching you forward and into new levels and places in your destiny. Even if you may have thought things were going to happen one way, be open to these special opportunities that you may not having been looking for, but that God may be sending to initiate things in a different way, and be ready to act. God may have a Mary setting you up for a miracle. Bottom line: whatever he says - JUST DO IT!!!
