WHEN NATURAL BEAUTY BLENDS WITH EXTREME DANGER: ANOTHER ACCIDENT? Just recently, the Choiseul Youth and Sports Council in collaboration with the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Caribbean Development Bank implemented two road safety projects at Morne Portalese and Trou Marc in Choiseul. Previously, the Ministry of Infrastructure implemented a similar project in the vicinity of the Morne Sion Disaster (Lower Morne Sion in Choiseul) where an it is alleged that a monument is planned to be erected in honour of the victims of the tragedy. As I have said over and over, (on Facebook and elsewhere), Choiseul is blessed with a uniquely beautiful and breathtaking landscape but to the unsuspecting motorist, it is loaded with potential danger. There are unconfirmed reports that there was an allegedly major accident in the Trou Marc area. Emerging details are still very sketchy but a reliable source told me that a 4x4 vehicle heading towards Choiseul Village plunged into Trou Marc. There are no confirmed reports of casualties but the source revealed that the driver was unconscious. Let us pray that all is well with him.
