WHERE ARE YOU CHRISTMAS? 1. Your Mom spends three months with Hospice and dies. 2, The wonderful dog you had for ten years becomes very sick and you have to put him down. 3. The man you loved more than anyone in the world and become engaged to says “yes,” a week later tells you he does not want to be married to you, and other private circumstances that surrounded that relationship. However, he truly is a wonderful man and we are remaining friends. I would still marry him in a New York minute. 4. You try to pay it forward for all the help your friends had given you financially over the summer and your bank account is emptied and robbed of the funds you received for school from grants and student loans. 5. You have to stop school for this semester. 6. You try desperately to bury the hatchet with family members who have wronged you and send out an invitation for Christmas Dinner inviting all of them to put all the challenges behind us and celebrate Christmas together in honor of my Mom. An extended family member accepted, immediate family members rejected, my father called me a “faggot,” and those who had split loyalties I told to stay with their side of the family to make it easier for them. Please come have Christmas Dinner with me. I have a big turkey, stuffing and all the trimmings. This has been an incredibly challenging year for me, and I would love to have company for Christmas Dinner at 2 pm Christmas Day.
