WHERE IS THE LEADERSHIP? Just for a brief second I stopped and thought about the state of this little island of ours and felt sad recognizing that it could have been the new vibrant Switzerland of the Med or a sparkling Jewel of the Mediterranean and envy of others. Then reality dawned on me and I also recognized that Cyprus could never become such a nation because Rule of Man governs the land and not the Rule of Law. Little kingdoms everywhere ruled by little men with little vision for the nation but a big vision for themselves. That in place, reality became crystal clear and recognized that if things remain as they are are, there is not a sliver of hope for a change in Cyprus because a crucial element is missing in the equation and that is: Inspiring Leadership! Instead, Cyprus is blessed: with the following leadership that set the rules and direction of the country: Mr. Anastasiades, Mr. Kyprianou, Mr. Omirou, Mr. Christophias, Mr. Perdikis, Mr. Sillouris, Mr. Lillikas, Mr. Papadopoulos, Next to them come other names of equal statute but especially Kommatokratia. Most of those leaders have switched political parties like changing a morning shirts in their attempt to climb up the political ladder of status and success. Where are the women? Can anyone really and truly recognize statesmanship and a dynamic leadership in such men to inspire and lead the nation into amazing new democratic heights based on fairness, equality, transparency and justice for all? Do we have a revolutionary Gandhi in our midst that we dont know about? Is there a Revolution of the Mind in process anxious to break lose and save the nation? If we do please tell us about it so we can all hope for a better future.
