A Southtown bakery specializing in whole-grain and low-sugar pan dulce and tortillas has been awarded a $30,000 Bexar County industrial development grant to spread its message about healthy eating. Tapping into a fund that had been dormant for decades, commissioners endorsed the bakerys goal of fighting diabetes by reducing intake of sugary, fatty and processed foods. “Its wonderful to see somebody trying to encourage people to eat things that are going to help them rather than kill them,” County Judge Nelson Wolff said.
