WHICH WAY NDI ANAMBRA??? By JohnBosco Ubasie If anybody or prophet had prophesied that Gov Obiano would be an very terrible mistake and merry making governor; I would have been the last to believe him. Here is our unfortunate State of Anambra at the mercy of a man who would rather spend billions on frivolities than do anything that would impact the lives of Ndi Anambra. Anambra is seriously heading back to the dark days where nothing worked. In as much as I wont be dwelling on numerous oddities and falsehoods upon which the government of Gov Obiano is built and run, which Gov Obianos E-rats try and sweat harder to cover up but always end up justifying them, there is an urgent need to place issues on proper perspective for posterity sake. I have it on good record and also watched Gov Obiano on Television present our 2015 budget estimate of 145Billion to the State House of Assembly on 24th November 2014 and before one could say Jack Robinson, Anambra State House of Assembly under the speakership of Rt Hon Chinwe Nwaebili passed the fastest budget in the history of Anambra State on the second week of December.. The questions on the lips of many were; A; How many ministries and agencies were invited by the lawmakers to defend their budget? B; where does Gov Obiano intend to get his 54 Billion Naira IGR projection bearing in mind that the maximum Anambra could generate in a month is 1Billion Naira. C: How come even after he had induced the lawmakers to the tune of 10 Million Naira each to pass his supplementary budget in September, he now had to increase it to 30 Million Naira each, for an express passage of his 2015 budget estimate? What is our governor hiding and afraid that could be unveiled in that budget? I have lost counts of the charade or rather dubious and nonexistent Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) running into billions of Naira which this government signs on monthly basis with anybody Gov Obiano meets at the airport in order to deceive Ndi Anambra. This present government which is neck-deep in deceit always roll out drums to celebrate MoUs which had all ended on paper while our scarce resources are filtered away on daily basis. How many of the MoUs have been flagged off or have anything being done on their respective sites? I have also lost counts of projects initiated by the past administration which had all been abandoned as I write: 1: Ozubulu- Atani road 2: Ekwulobia-Ezinifite-Ekwulumili road Just to mention a few. What does the younger generation and indeed Ndi Anambra stand to learn from Gov Obiano as a leader apart from building roads and fly-overs? Is it how to dance and drink? Is it how to have an over-bearing wife who slaps at will with the latest victim being the deputy Governors wife and also dance naked without bearing in mind that she is now the mother of all? Is it how to waste our scare resources servicing Victor Umeh and his cronies Vis-a -Vis ; APGA special convention where he was made BOT chairman and Umehs extension of tenure of office by 120 days - 500 Million Naira Reburial of dead Biafra soldiers slated for 12th January 2015 which have Victor Umeh as chairman of the burial committee - 300 Million Naira Is it how not to be able to encapsulate his achievements in office without unnecessarily repeating himself severally as if he had lost touch with reality? Is it how to disturb our ear drums with sirens and long convoys reminiscent of a drug baron. I thought this man said he came from the United States, Is this how governors in United States move about? Is it how to tag anybody that had refused to accept the mediocrity he dishes out an enemy? The most important thing Gov Obiano had achieved in office in the last nine years is that he had emptied our treasury with his reckless spending and is planning to borrow hence his bribing of the State House of Assembly to pass the 2015 appropriation bill without inviting a single ministry to defend their budget. For the first time in the history of Anambra State, a politician was appointed the Accountant-General of the State without NLC and TUC raising an eyebrow. I have it on good records that the lady had worked with Gov Obiano in private capacity before he appointed her SSA and now Accountant-General ...To be continued
