WHILE WAITING One of the things i hated most as an undergraduate in the university was queue (a waiting line of people), during the time of registration. We were always asked to queue for anything pertaining to registration so as to make a first-come-first served order. Most times you will have to wait for hours before it gets to your turn. It becomes worst when the lecturer or anybody rendering the service decides to close for the day, that means you would have to go and come back the next day. Hence, I developed a strategy of manoeuvring for positions. It was always successful each time I tried it because I hated waiting. Until one day I got insulted badly as I was trying to take a position at the front end. Of course that was the last time I stopped manoeuvring for positions on queue because I never wanted to be disrespected or insulted anymore. An average human being may have to wait for a particular thing or the other at least once in his/her life time. You could be waiting on God for admission, a good job, money to start up a business, a child, a life partner, a car, an accommodation or healing etc. But lets look at the following; 💢WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO WAIT? It means you love God when you wait.It means you do not want to go through short cuts in life. It means you are not in a haste. When you are in a haste, you want to get everything done by all means. When you wait for Gods time, you will get the best. You would not live the rest of your life in regret. Waiting means you have an expectation which God promised to give you eventually in Jeremaiah 29:11. It also means you trust in God and want to remain faithful to him. The scripture says in Psalm 125:1 They that trust in the lord shall be as mount zion, which cannot be removed but abides forever. 💢IS WAITING BAD? The answer to this is NO. Waiting only builds you and enlarges your capacity. It makes you discover ways of fixing things or finding solutions to problems. It makes you put your faith to work.For without faith, it is impossible to please the lord and when you please God, he answers you speedily. Waiting is never a bad thing as it is also a time when inspirations and great ideas come. 💢WHAT DO YOU DO WHILE WAITING? Waiting period is a time to pray ,for The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much(James 5:16b). It is a time to get closer to God,search the word and get a word for that particular situation(See John 15:7).It is also a time to call on God( See Acts 2:21 and Jer 33:3). It is not a time to speak ill to yourself. It is not a time to complain or get angry. It is not a time to commit sin and give excuses for it.It is not a time to abandon God or become an atheist.It is actually a time to count the blessings of God in your life and give thanks for this is the will of God in christ Jesus concerning you(1 Thes 5:18). 💢WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WAITING IS OVER IN YOUR LIFE? It brings glory to God. A lady whose friends got engaged before her,kept on trusting and waiting on God for her life partner. Eventually when her man came, everybody congratulated her and told her it was worth waiting.And she wedded before those her friends. When your waiting time is over, it becomes a testimony, gives you boldness, gives hope to others and you get to encourage others. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Shalom......Lots of Love from FAVOUR OKEKE.
