WHO IS THE BEAST ?THE Bible warns humanity never to bow down to the beast, for that would cost even the most sincere their place in heaven. This is a truth of great import- and the Lord repeats it every now and then in the Book of Revelation; the very book more applicable for the Christian of the last days on earth. Remember dear saint, that the author and finisher of our salvation is the very one under whose authorship we have the Book of Revelations.John in the 14th Chapter sees a vision which every child of God must pay earnest heed unto. He saw in vision, an angel, “saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.” (Revelation 14: 9-11).Here the Bible reveals it in unmistakable language that those that receive the “Mark of the Beast” or worship the beast will not enter heaven; and herein is the whole point of bothering to study the issue. It impinges on salvation, and no true Christian can leave such a thing unexplored. Now, we cannot pick one verse and make a cross-cutting conclusion. John in the 15th Chapter is in vision allowed to see those that will finally enter heaven. He testifies saying, “And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, [and] over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.” (Rev. 15: 2). In the Twentieth Chapter, another view of heaven is shown him. John the Revelator reports saying, “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and [I saw] the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received [his] mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” (Revelation 20: 4).It is clear that the Bible teaches that those that receive the Mark of the Beast will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. This is the evidence that makes it an issue of utmost solemnity and import to know the Beast. Every soul that is saved by grace ought to tremble at the truth that, “Blessed [is] he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time [is] at hand.” (Rev. 1: 3).
